It’s time for another Classics Club Spin!.

©️The Classic Club

It’s easy – before next Sunday 17th May, 2026 I have to create a post that lists twenty books of my choice that remain “to be read” on my Classics Club list.

This will be my Spin List.

What’s Next?

A number is chose by the Classic Club determining which of of these twenty books I have to read by the 5th July, 2026 which is the end of the spin period.

“On Sunday 17th May we’ll post a number from 1 through 20. The challenge is to read whatever book falls under that number on your Spin List by the 5th July, 2026.
We’ll check in here on the 5th July to see who made it the whole way and finished their spin book!”

The Classic Club
  • Go to your blog.
  • Pick twenty books that you’ve got left to read from your Classics Club List.
  • Post that list, numbered 1-20, on your blog before Sunday 17th May 2026.
  • We’ll announce a number from 1-20.
  • Read that book by 5th July.

This is meant to be a fun, social way to read another book from your classics club list. We’re very relaxed about how you set it up, we simply want you to read more classics!

On Sunday, 17th May The Classic Club will announce a number from 1 through 20. I will find the corresponding book on my Spin list, see below, then read (and hopefully, review) that book by 5th July 2026.

I will confirm the book here and on The Classis Club post not later than Monday, 18th May 2026.

  1. I have The Day of the Triffids on my list, #12. I like how some Classics Clubbers line up their books-in-common with others. Maybe I will do that next time. Good luck with the spin.

  2. GREAT list!! Frankenstein was WAY better than I thought it would be. Wow! Treasure Island, Hound of the Baskervilles, Rights of Women. Sorry but the Hobbit, every blessed time I have tried it–in both print and audio put me to sleep. My family thinks I’m brain damaged! I hope you LOVE it

    1. I’m getting such great comments on my list which is encouraging and I’m expecting to enjoy whatever comes up (even The Hobbit!). Thanks for your comment it’s always helpful to know that others have enjoyed the books on my list – or not! I’ll keep an open mind in case it comes up!

  4. I’ve read 9 books on your list and don’t know which to recommend most! Jane Austen is always good, but everyone should read Frankenstein at some point, so I hope you get it this time!

  6. Gosh, so many of these are great! Treasure Island, Frankenstein, Triffids, Black Narcissus… but as a dedicated Sherlock Holmes fan, I’m hoping you get the wonderful The Hound of the Baskervilles! Good luck!

    1. Thanks! I think I’ll be happy with any of them and whatever comes up will be a part of my #20BOS26 challenge too (do like a multi challenge read) and I’ll probably add a few of the others to that list as well so I might read The Hound of the Baskervilles either way I’ll see how it goes.
