Read Indies – Spotlight: Renard Press

“Lizzy and I are delighted to be hosting #ReadIndies for the fourth time. Not only does it give us good reason to support our favourite indie publishers more visibly than usual, but it’s also a perfect excuse to discover new ones. It is with discovery in mind that this year’s badge has been populated with the 41 micro publishers (publishers with 5 employees or less) that have, under the aegis of Will Dady of Renard Press, gathered together to form the Indie Press Network.”

Lizzy, the co-host of #ReadIndies, chatted with Will Dady over on her blog to kick off this important month of support for independent publishers. Do hop over and read this interesting post as it gives a great insight into what it is to be an indie press.
Renard Press

One of my favourite independent publishers. Not only bringing such a variety of books Classic, contemporary; fiction and non fiction but has given a voice through three projects – New Beginnings, Spectrum and Kinship – to those who have felt marginalised, silenced or ‘other’.
Will Dady, the owner and inspiration of Renard Press, has gone further this year in establishing The Indie Press Network
“The Indie Press Network is an open network that seeks to help connect independent publishers with each other, with booksellers and with readers.
The independent publishing scene is incredibly important for many reasons, not least for raising the voices of those who have traditionally been neglected. This network was established to harness our collective power, to raise our voices together.”

Blog Tours
I’ve been delighted to have been invited to be a part of these amazing blog tours for Renard Press. Press the book cover to read what my thoughts were on these books.

My collection
Here’s just some of my growing collection of Renard Press books. From Renard Presses support of Three Peas with the annual alternative to a Christmas card, bringing renewal to old favourites, through to presenting the opportunity to read new to me classics or new, contemporary stories and poetry Renard Press is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the written word.
Here’s what I thought of The Importance of Being Ernest by Oscar Wilde and How Should One Read A Book? by Virginia Woolf.
I shall be reading Silly Novels by Lady Novelists and other essays by George Elliot and Lady Molly of Scotland Yard by Baroness Emmuska Orczy and hopefully one or two or more Renard Press publications this year.

Supporting indie publishers like Renard Press is important and we can do this by sharing our thoughts, recommending their publications, keeping them in the mind of people who love books but most of all it is by buying their books that will secure the future of these amazing indie presses. Renard Press sells wonderful books which you can purchase individually or via a subscription directly. The books are chosen, published and sold with love and a huge amount of passion. I highly recommend Renard Press and encourage everyone to support them in whatever way you can but especially by buying their books.

“If you want to help your favourite indies survive, buy their books, read, review, and recommend them to others!”

Thank you, good of you to say. Yes, they are! Thank you both for hosting such an important month. I look forward to February next year, not that I won’t be reading indies throughout this year!
