Well, it’s Wednesday (still!) and I saw this on Twitter so –

I thought I’d give it a go! I’ve found it to be a really useful tool I’ve been able to gather my thoughts and take stock of what I’m doing and what I need to do with my reading (especially for the #20booksofsummer challenge that I’ve been doing for a few years now) and with my reviews – which I need to put a bit of time into and catch up on.

Also, you might be able to help me decide on my final book for the #20booksofsummer challenge – see below.

Hosted by Taking on a World of Words, this meme is all about the three Ws:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Why not join in too? Leave a comment with your link at Taking on a World of Words and then check out all the other wonderful blogs!

What are you currently reading?

Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. This is a #20booksofsummer20 read.

Book blurb

Sisters. Strangers. Survivors.

More than twenty years ago, Claire and Lydia’s teenage sister Julia vanished without a trace. The two women have not spoken since, and now their lives could not be more different. Claire is the glamorous trophy wife of an Atlanta millionaire. Lydia, a single mother, dates an ex-con and struggles to make ends meet. But neither has recovered from the horror and heartbreak of their shared loss-a devastating wound that’s cruelly ripped open when Claire’s husband is killed.

The disappearance of a teenage girl and the murder of a middle-aged man, almost a quarter of a century apart: what could connect them? Forming a wary truce, the surviving sisters look to the past to find the truth, unearthing the secrets that destroyed their family all those years ago . . . and uncovering the possibility of redemption, and revenge, where they least expect it.

Powerful, poignant, and utterly gripping, packed with indelible characters and unforgettable twists, Pretty Girls is a masterful novel from one of the finest writers working today.

What did you recently finish reading?

I recently finished Missing Presumed by Susie Steiner. A Virtual Crime Book Club read as well as a #20booksofsummer22 read.

72 HOURS TO FIND HER…

A MISSING GIRL
Edith Hind is gone, leaving just her coat, a smear of blood and a half-open door.

A DESPERATE FAMILY
Each of her friends and relatives has a version of the truth. But none quite adds up.

A DETECTIVE AT BREAKING POINT
The press grows hungrier by the day. Can DS Manon Bradshaw fend them off, before a missing persons case becomes a murder investigation?

What do you think you’ll read next?

Well, although I’m a little behind on my reviews, I’ve only two more books after I finish Pretty Girls to read to reach the 20 for this year. I think that should be doable. Although, as predicted, I might not finish all my thoughts on them until early in September.

So, two books and the five below are on my list (you’ll understand why I listed more than just 20 if you want on the link to my 20Books above). I’m pretty sure I’ll read Still Lives but what about the final book?

Maybe you could help by putting your favourite or most enjoyed read from the other four pictured below (if you’ve read them) or what you’d like me to read?
