It’s a lesson she’ll never forget.

Lesson #1: Trust no one.
Book blurb
Eve has a good life. She gets up each day, gets a kiss from her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except…
Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye.
Addie can’t be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that’s what everyone says.
But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet.

My thoughts
The book covers some dark stuff manipulation, controlling relationships and child(teenage) abuse/peodophilia but it is not a story that is preachy nor is it overly graphic regarding this or the murders that take place.
It is a well written and compelling story that took me some time to get into. I found it slow going until around two thirds of the way through this book when it really took off and despite some of the things that happened I began to quite enjoy it. The final third is when the setting up of the story came together and provided an ending that was really quite satisfying in a dark/noir, black comedy kind of way. There are elements of the story that may, will need the reader to go along with that might be a little too much for some. That said the book is very readable.
